At first I get a warm fuzzy feeling inside when I watch this, like we’re seeing some kind of social justice in action. Then I just get sad when I realize that this is in fact the state of reality that we’re living in and Olbermann’s words, no matter how sharpened they may be, are not going to be enought to jar the President or any one of his puppet masters enough to cease their lies and disinformation and consider bringing about an end to this rueful era of world history. Finally, I get bored and read some comic books or go watch Iron Man again. What the fuck else can I do? Bush is ultimately the winner here.

Okay, I know I linked to this in a tweet about 4 seconds ago, but this is just too awesome to not post here.
Wow. Daniel Day Lewis playing a character in a movie that’s completely unrelated to the Star Wars franchise is an immensely better Darth Vader than the kid they got to actually play Vader in the prequels. It’s kind of disappointing that this is the closest we’ll ever see to a Darth Day Lewis.
The latest development in the extensive Alternate Reality Game that is serving as the interactive marketing campaign for The Dark Knight is a secret vandalized version of the film’s latest trailer. Seemingly edited by the Clown Prince of Crime himself, the trailer was shown to a few lucky participants of the Dark Knight ARG in Chicago, Dallas, Philadelphia, and London. The “Jokerized” trailers don’t appear to hold any new footage, but the content itself is novel enough to appease the appetite of any hype-slave like me who can’t wait to scarf up the latest little morsel of information connected to this movie.

This is the trailer for the latest Metal Gear Solid game, Guns of the Patriots, which is about to be released on the PS-Triple (which I don’t ever plan on buying). Aside from looking like it’s going to be the most incredible video game ever created by a human, I’m really interested in what it’s saying about the future of war and specifically the future of America’s war. The Metal Gear franchise has always worked to educate people on the realities of war and nuclear armament, promoting a strong anti-war message while wearing the guise of a big budget Michael Bay action movie. This new game seems to be taking it a step further by moving the setting into the middle east and discussing the possible repercussions of America overextending itself. Also, there’s a Cyborg Ninja and a monkey that drinks soda pop.
